Cam Hack
Cam Hack is a weekend hackathon for Cambridge students. Teams receive a theme on Saturday, build until Sunday afternoon, then present their projects.
The theme
The 2025 edition ran on 1–2 November in the Intel lab with over 250 participants. Its theme was Unintended Behaviour.
Projects included a piano turned into a typewriter, DOOM rendered through TikToks, and C code running inside Minecraft and Mindustry. See the 2025 project gallery.
Who can enter
The event is for current Cambridge students from any subject. Beginners are welcome. Teams have up to five people, and you can enter on your own.
What you get
Food, merchandise, mini-events and prizes. Check the current event page for the details of each edition.
Sponsors
The 2025 event was supported by Anthropic, Entrepreneur First, Jane Street, Founders at the University of Cambridge, Qube RT, Sierra and TPP UK.
See 2026–27 society sponsors for the current society roster.
Turning up prepared
Arrange a team if you can, prepare your development environment and choose something small enough to finish. Leave time to test and present it, and get some sleep.
Registration is announced on the mailing list and Discord.
