CUCaTS Wiki

Guides and resources from CUCaTS members.

The sections

  • Getting Started: joining CUCaTS and running an event.
  • Events: Cam Hack, Cambridge Game Jam and Codevent.
  • Sponsors: our 2026–27 sponsors and student opportunities.
  • Applying to Cambridge: applications, admissions tests and interviews.
  • Tutorials: computing tools, programming and study skills.
  • Trading: markets, options, futures and risk.
  • Resources: course material, facilities and careers support.

Choose a starting point

For a first project, begin with Git, Command Line and Project Structure. For a web application, add HTTP and SQL.

For trading, start with Markets and Orders. Read Options and Futures before the pricing and strategy pages.

Each topic has links to related material. Use the site's search when you need a command, term or particular concept.

How much to trust it

Students maintain this wiki. Check admissions requirements against the official Cambridge site and your College. Tool behaviour may depend on the version you use.

Writing a page

Committee editors manage wiki pages in the CMS. Set a title, description and parent page, then preview and publish. The parent and slug control the URL; position controls ordering.

In Markdown blocks, use ## for section headings. Callouts start with [!NOTE], [!TIP] or [!WARNING] in a blockquote. See Math Example for maths notation.
