Getting Started

CUCaTS is Cambridge's student-run computing and technology society. We run talks, socials, hackathons and competitions, and help members organise their own events. Students from any subject are welcome, including beginners.

Hearing about things

Join the events mailing list for announcements. Discord carries day-to-day discussion; ask a committee member or look for an invite at an event.

Check the events page or subscribe to our calendar. Event write-ups are on the blog.

We also run talks, workshops, socials and formals. Most events are free thanks to sponsorship.

Running your own event

We can help with funding, logistics and publicity. Read the event funding guide, then send us a rough plan.

Joining the committee

Committee roles cover events, sponsorship, publicity, technical infrastructure and administration. Elections are announced on the mailing list. Talk to the current role holder about the work involved.

See the committee and constitution for roles and membership rules.

Sponsors and careers

Our 2026–27 sponsors support events and offer careers opportunities. The University Careers Service provides wider listings and application support.
